Curator Elyse Zorn Karlin presents insights into the art jewelry genre focusing on the five categories represented in the exhibition Maker & Muse: Women and Early 20th Century Art Jewelry. Discover why many jewelry designers in the early twentieth century rebelled against the ornate designs of the Victorian period resulting in unique, handmade jewelry vastly different than mainstream jewelry of its time.
