Our highly popular living history summer Servants Tour is back!

The year is 1899, and the Nickerson family is away spending the summer season at their Cape Cod estate. Due to a recent mysterious “incident” that resulted in the dismissal of most of the household staff, the fastidious English housekeeper Mrs. Williams is conducting special interviews with prospective candidates in their absence.

As a tour participant, you are one of those prospective candidates. During this unique living history experience, guests explore the mansion’s back staircases and servants’ quarters as they discover the true historic inspiration for the “incident,” what life was like for an American servant in the Gilded Age, and how the Nickerson family’s real servants would have cared for their distinguished employers.

This tour sells out quickly! Advance ticket purchase is highly recommended.

The approximately one-hour Summer Servants Tour is suitable for ages eight years and older. Please note that the ‘back of the house’ is explored via several staircases. For questions about accessibility during the tour, please call 312 482 8933, ext. 21 or email info@driehausmuseum.org.

Ticket Refund Policy:  Tickets are fully refundable up to 72 hours prior to the event.

Please note that in exchange for your reservation and/or ticket, you have authorized the Driehaus Museum to photograph, record, film, video tape, or otherwise use your likeness, performance, image, and/or voice for use in general and/or program-related Driehaus Museum promotional materials. If for any reason, you do not wish to be photographed, please provide your name(s) at registration that day.
