Steps away from Chicago's Magnificent Mile, the Driehaus Museum offers visitors a fascinating view of one of the few remaining examples of the palatial homes erected by the wealthy of America's Gilded Age.

The galleries, elegantly furnished with period pieces selected from the Driehaus Collection, are presented in harmony with the interiors and surviving furnishings, immersing visitors in the original splendor of this late 19th-century home. Read more

The Richard H. Driehaus Museum embodies the highest ideals of preservation, conservation, and restoration. Between 2003 and 2008, Richard H. Driehaus supported a meticulous restoration of the historic Samuel M. Nickerson House. Read more

Hours and Tour Information

The Museum is open for self-guided visitation during regular hours of operation: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Guided tours of Driehaus Museum highlights are available daily at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Advance reservations are not required.

Twilight Tours are offered the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Historic walking tours of the neighborhood are offered the first and third Saturday of each month at 1 p.m. Advance reservations are highly recommended for Twilight Tours and McCormickville Walking Tours and can be made online or by calling 312 482 8933, ext. 21.
