Main Hall Past 6

Fisher period, c. 1901

In order to mount the animal heads, the four Nickerson period gasoliers were removed from the hall. To compensate for the loss of the lighting, a series of single bulb electric light fixtures were mounted in the cornices of the halls and stairways on the first and second floors. Approximately 125 of these fixtures were introduced to the hallways of the house in 1900–1901, an incredible amount for a private home of the period.
