Considered one of the greatest love stories of all time, this novel has captivated generations since it was first published in 1848 and continues to resonate today. Dumas’s subtle and moving portrait of two young lovers, is based on his own love affair with one of the most desirable courtesans in Paris in the late 19th century. This tragic tale of love, scandal and loss has inspired countless adaptations for the stage, in opera, film, and literature. Refreshments will be served.
